Lots of the big names worked the clubs round our area.  Been in Scawthorpe a time or two.  My OHs agent had their office near there.  Askern, Woodlands, Carcroft.... Some of them resembled the Wheel Tappers and shunters!  The chair for the night was ..Colin Crompton

And way earlier
