Everybody got their funeral plans organised?.
« on: Nov 30, 2018, 09:52:03 PM »

Somebody today said he does not believe in them.
He also said it is the duty of the offspring to pay for the funeral.
He does not believe in occupational or private pensions either.

Mine's planned.

I've planned not to have one until I'm dead.

Both mine and wife's are already paid for. At the rate they go up its one hell of a better return than leaving the cash in a bank or even the best investment I've come across. There was a bit on TV the other day on how much the charges have risen and a suggestion there may need to be some regulation.

Another argument for paying up front is that the council can't grab it if you end up in a home so it won't come out of the bit they leave over for the kids. The alternative scheme for hanging onto some cash makes the mattress very lumpy.

I have been told they will do your funeral half price if you book 15 years in advance.

I wish there were a budget option for funerals because I would certainly ask for it. As it is at present I intend to delegate this task.

What about leaving your body to medical science? 😮
