Ma piece is usually tuna n cucumber, canny get enough o it.
I knew about the word Drochal, but it's not used around here, I believe it's a Lowland Scots word.
I would have gone with the spelling Nee-aff, it just seems better somehow. A lot of them are from old gaelic and spelling them is a nightmare.
Thurso is an old Viking Town so there is quite a bit of Norse used in the area, a lot of places have 3 names, Norse, Gaelic and English. 
Thurso means Thors River, or something along those lines.
