If I feel things getting on top of me I tend to indulge in 'comfort calories', things like croissants, fruit scones, that sort of thing, plus wine.

I put on a Beatles song and dance along  -  honest.   It works for me, I don't know if it's drifting back to my youth for a few minutes or not  ;D
Plan B is chocolate

That's how I did it when I was linedancing, made me feel good and it did me good. Then I could have that bit of chocolate without the guilt.  ;D

I'm all for dancing and flinging myself about, hanging on the door frame etc.   Rock n' roll does it for me every time.   But playing relaxing music has the opposite effect - it makes me fret even more.  Move yourself as much as possible.  Plan B for me is a piece of cheese and more than a few grapes. Preferably standing by the open fridge moving my shoulders, listening to the beat  .....man! ;D

Stroking furry animals is supposed to relieve stress. Unfortunately I dont have any furry pets as I like reptiles.

In the feature film "The Caine Mutiny" about life in the USN during WW2 aboard a destroyer minesweeper portrayed Captain Queeg, played by Humphrey Bogart, who had battle fatigue which caused his neurosis, continually rolling two steel balls about in his hand to relieve stress.  Just a thought!

Well stress isn't contagious so you can't catch it, in my opinion it's something that you have to let happen, I think the nearest I got was when I had a problem with my old neighbours and the odd really bad day at work, but like a few others have mentioned I'd go with the alcohol course of treatment, not really a cure but it certainly helps "numb" the senses/brain cells  ;D

It was always Linedance for me, I only have the odd half of lager/lime. I was going through a horrible phase with my Ex during our divorce and my pal hauled me along to her Linedance Class. I loved it and I felt great after the class, knackered, but great. I also slept great that night and no stress about my problems. I ended up teaching several months later and it took all my stress away and left me feeling good about my life.
