I mainly associate that song with Tony Bennett, it was also recorded by Sammy Davis Jnr and Sinatra to name but two.  I reckon Crabby is right though, Sacha Distel did sing it, and he was very good looking.

Thanks Crab & Gran. That was Sacha. Most famous for his The Good Life. He died young unfortunately as did Claude.

Sacha was 71 when he died, not that young, he reached No 10 in the UK Charts with "Raindrops ..."
the "original" by BJ Thomas (from the movie Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid) only got to No 38 in the UK.

There have been loads of French singers throughout the years that I always admired. Probably because of the sexuality they put in to a song, but then, that is just my opinion. Ever heard of Michel Sardou?

Probably because I'm a bloke, but I never liked any of the French singers, and Sacha Distel just reminded me of a French version of Lovejoy.  ;D

I haven't. Anyone heard of Charles Trenet? He sang 'La Mer'.  Bobby Darin sang the English version, 'Beyond the Sea'.
