It certainly is Scrumpy and when you're actually there it's hard to hold back a few tears.

The following youtube thingy was Liverpool in Australia singing this.  It looked like the whole of the fab stadium was red and the Australian commentator was really welcoming and in awe of the performance.  It doesn't start until half way in, but it was a sight to behold.  And I say that as an Evertonian!  When Liverpool took on this song in 1960s I think, it topped any and every other football chant, and still does.

Big Oops Zoony. Sorry,  I meant the one that followed the one that Alex put up.  I watched that and then the Australian one followed, so I watched that.  Much as I enjoyed it, I am not exactly,* actually, post a Liverpool one am I?.  Too much effort for a true blue.

Jerry and The Pacemakers (prescient when you consider how many of the originals ended up with one..) have a lot to answer for though I suppose the fault originally lies with Rodgers and Hammerstein..Mind you, I prefer that to Johnny Todd.. ::) ;)

Gerry & the Pacemakers topped the UK charts with this song, the fans at Anfield always sang songs from the "Top Ten" including Beatles songs.  She Loves You is one I remember being sung, so as Gerry topped the charts the Kop sang his song and so it was adopted.    ;)

It's a great song no doubt. The cast used to weep during rehearsals for that scene in Carousel where Billy Bigelow has to return to the afterlife and leave his beloved little girl behind to the strains of You'll Never Walk Alone..Rarely a dry eye in the house..

'You'll Never Walk Alone' is inscribed over a gate into the walled garden at Hillsborough Park.
