Hang in there Mike.  I hope the year improves for you.
Just because you’re offended doesn’t mean you’re right.

Thanks, everyone - I am tempted to believe it can hardly get worse, but given the record so far.............

Andy and Peter think a doggy might help. They are always there to share the good and bad times.

I'm so sorry that you are having such a bad time Mike.  Maybe Brian's idea of a pet could be some comfort to you.

Have you thought about getting a companion for your dog Mike ?  Sometimes a younger dog can give an oldie a new lease of life.

Wouldn't be fair - a younger dog would outlive me - then what for the poor thing? Sheila (my sister) doted on her cat, for whom we are now having to find a new home with new people.

Have you got wider family?. If somebody dies their dog is re homed within the family. Andy and Peter's owner had died. We all got through our grief together.

Many thanks, YB.
Brian, sadly nobody who could take in an owner-less dog (or even budgie, if I had one, for that matter)

So sorry to hear about your loss Mike. A dog would be a good companion for you. Roxy out dog was 4 year old when it came to us for an holiday and it settle in so well the owner asked if we would like to keep her. She certainly gives me great comfort and I now take her with me when I visit Yvonne in the hospice

Thanks, em - in fact a 'new' owner (Owner? DOGS have owners - cats have STAFF!) is already lined up. Sorry to hear of your loss - it is such a wrench
