Trouble In The EU Dream.

It seems all is not well in the EU dream, where the whole of Europe lives in perpetual harmony & bliss.

Differences between countries are unlikely to go away, and breaking off diplomatic relations seems an unlikely way of solving disputes. But it goes to show that the government of the eu, a self aggrandising, expensive, and somewhat absurd government without a country, is not helpful in this type of situation. Or any other.

The past and future for Europe clash. The thing is each country sees itself as the future. I'm not sure if we are past peak oil but I am pretty sure that we are past peak Europe. The whole rotten edifice will surely fall. I do so hope I'm still alive to see it.

A quote from teh French Foreign Minister:

They violate the respect that is owed to democratic choices made by a nation which is a friend and an ally.

perhaps he could tell that to the EU!
