Scrumpy.
I call it lots of things.... Usually, while I'm having to bale it out, during very wet weather.....  ;)

Mike.
I use a wet/ dry vac. But today's volume of water, entailed climbing out of the pit, emptying the tank down the driveway drain, some 20+ times.....  :(

Pumps don't pick up the final dregs.

Sorry for your troubles mate. I'm lucky enough to live near the crests of three hills where they join so don't have problems but then again, isn't Sheffield built on seven hills a la Rome? I know you're not in Sheff but it's got some nasty flooding.

Saw a nice secondhand desk in the local British Heart Foundation charity shop at a fair price today All OK until they quoted 25 delivery
They can keep the desk.
Many charity shops are playing the charity card these days & getting too greedy.

The delivering is normally out-sourced and those people aren't working for charity. It's S.O.P in most places.

Not interested who does the deliveries. Just not paying 25 delivery charge.

More rain coming today and the grass is still growing so it was out with the lawn mower once again. It also collects up fallen leaves from the trees next door. I am living on the crest of an hill so not suffering with cost and conditions of flood water. For the rest of the day I will relax, apart from an afternoon walk with Roxy.

Hmmm.....
Woke up this morning. The back, and knuckles area of my right hand is painfully swollen!  ::)   I'm having trouble holding the kettle and teapot etc.  :o

This won't do! I guess it's trying to tell me, I'm too old now, for manual labour.
So, I've located a pump, which will empty, down to 1/4" of water.

Wise future-proofing my friend. Think of me kindly when you have to use the thing.  ;D

There's a Leprosy joke there somewhere.
Hope Chris is keeping well despite the rain and wet.

I'm chuckling now..Watching an American tv drama series, granted, made for a younger audience, and I've just confirmed my recent suspicions that modern actresses are cultivating hedgerow-style eyebrows..Is that a thing?
