Pretty awful day.  Sunshine one minute and pouring rain the next.  Still had to water inside the polytunnel.  Good crop this year - if you like marrows and courgettes.  Why do they insist on all ripening a once?  This week it looks like we'll be making Marrow & Ginger jam and Marrow chutney.  Not sure what to do with all the courgettes.  We have both the normal type and ball courgettes.  I think the ball variety has a better flavour (sliced and fried in butter with fesh herbs - yummy).

My daughter is making courgette cake for her vegan friend.  She was quoted £45 by a local cake maker so decided to do it herself.

45 quid to make a cake, outragous! Ive just looked up the recipe, nothing to it a couple of quids worth of ingredients.  If these people are cake makers they must have customers, some people have more money than sense.  Good for your daughter to make it herself and not line the pockets of greedy people.

How did the ladies know it was yours?  Did you put signs up?

I'm really pleased that you got it back.

Thanks, Sheila - yes, by 0600 this morning I had a reward poster on every bench in the park - sounds a lot, but there are only 5. They refused to take the reward, so I left a phone message asking them to name a charity.

Glad to hear that M.R. I have my moms wedding ring and I wear it on an old chain around my neck, I bought a swivelling gold catch so that it can lie flat.

I always take my rings off when washing my hands for fear of one going down the drain - back in the family home around 1949 dad discovered a wedding ring in the kitchen sink u-bend. The lady who lived there before us had done so for 27 years and never married, so that ring must have been there for 30 years or more

First day out to pop into some shops.  Hand sanitiser  for shoppers to use .. Hand  sanitiser for sale in the shops.. This product was like gold dust for months..

Had a toasted sandwich in M&S. All the crockery/cutlery was throwaway. I had a toasted sandwich.. Spilled my HOT tea down my clothing (the whole lot) !! .. The staff were wonderful..
The young lad who works there was chatting to us as if we had never been away..
What a great feeling to get out.. We followed all the guidelines connected with  covid- 19 as did the other shoppers...
Everything will be alright in the end, and if it’s not alright, its not the end.
