Again, it is (wiser) to have nothing for that is the time the help from outside comes into play..

Which is exactly why I have gradually  over time legally  ensured my savings are down to the minimum, I only own a third of my home on paper. my son owning he other two thirds.  I don't see the fun in paying for my possible care, when those that choose to p**s their money up the wall, or  are sat on their arses all their lives  get it free.

Got a clothes wash done and on the line.  Fed the pigs,  fixed a lawn mower, had a chat with our friends about 'cold smoking' pork.  Came home and did some gardening - then it started to rain so we had to bring in the clothes.

Weather can't decide what it's doing.  OK at the minute, but I bet it would rain again if I went near the garden.

Mowed the lawn. I looked like RoadRunner.. Loads of dust ..
Watered the plants.. I think a couple of them look ‘Iffy’.. I think they are very happy weeds.
My son-in-law Richard popped in to show me his new motor bike.. He was so chuffed .. He is 63 yrs old.. and this has been on his ‘bucket list’.. Men and their toys eh! .
Everything will be alright in the end, and if it’s not alright, its not the end.

Put in a few plants this morning and did some weeding. Shift at the charity shop this pm. They struggle for volunteers at the weekends, and I'm rarely busy on a Saturday unless I'm babysitting.

I went to the garden centre at Pen-y-Bont and bought a few more plants, then back home to plant up 2 new containers (only about 15" square), I'll give it a few days and decide whether they need any more.

Day home today.. I think we had a few drops of rain overnight.

I have just heard Mungo Jerry singing  'In The Summertime'  ( when the weather was high.)   I felt like dancing..

Back has been a problem of late, so yesterday had a day of 'bed rest' - actually stretched out on the settee, dozing off and on, so once I have had lunch a repeat performance will be tried as the back seems to have improved a little.

I've just replaced the  old, dripping, kitchen tap, with a new one.

No leaks. No mess. Totally straightforward job, taking less than an hour.
I can't remember  any previous job going so well.

Just, a bit pleased....  :)

Planted out the Brassicas  and sawed up some old wood to make a frame to cover them. That's them sorted with a mesh covering them to keep the pigeons away and slug pellets to hopefully keep any slugs away.  We control the slug numbers with nematodes.  A bit costly, but effective.

Planted out some more broad beans.   That's gardening done for today.

Another whole hour of what is now laughingly called 'the news.' It fills three hours in a morning, 45 minutes at lunch-time and another hour and a half from 5-6.30 and it's all Brekshit, brekshit and more brekshit. I wouldn't mind if anybody knew anything but nobody does. The only news I hear these days is on the World Service, the rest is all brekshit speculation, rumour, self-interested points scoring and utter tripe. Roll on November.

Over the bank holiday iv been tidying up the garden and planting pot plants , re arranging the various pot plants around the garden, and de weeding as and where they needed  pulling up , and ending up raking over the garden and sweeping up leaves from several bushes and shrubs ,

finally ending up each evening having a glass of two of either wine or whiskey, or brandy.  then having a catch up watching missed programmes on the t.v, from either BBC i player, or the itv Hub, in-between watching a few of my many  DVDs  over the bank holiday,
all very enjoyable,

so for me the bank holiday was being very relaxing and enjoyable,
