A walk along the river to keep the joints moving , but a bit to blowy to sit on a seat for a while as I normally do, now, its my turn to cook lunch, duck breasts, roast spuds, runner beans, carrots.  then feet up.

Yes, the fort is still there.  It would take some shifting!
New Brighton is lovely.  Two of our grandchildren visited recently and the pirate ship on the beach (made out of driftwood) was a huge success.  In the park behind, volunteers have also made more fabulous things out of driftwood and old fishing nets.

I've always liked New Brighton, they must have spent a lot of money over the last few years as it's really been 'tarted up '  ;D

Here's the fort Ronyork

It's still raining here, but at least not at Lords, so it's fingernail chewing time as I listen to Test Match Special

Alex, next time you go to New Brighton, go to a cafe in Victoria Parade called Remember When.  It has old china cups etc., pictures of things like the Miss New Brighton contest, the old tower, fair etc.  A visit to the toilet is a must.  I just went in and laughed.  It was full of old potties and there were squares of newspaper threaded onto string hanging on the wall.

There is a newish block of flats near the Floral Pavilion theatre with glass fronts overlooking the river.  I have never seen one for sale but we lust after them every time we go past.

It's been a filthy afternoon weatherwise so I've had a lovely couple of hours watching Celtic Thunder in action....

I went to Liverpool today and had a bra fitting in M&S.  The lady reckons I have been wearing the wrong size.

My husband came and picked me up from the station and I told him 'I hate those M&S mirrors, I saw every lump, bump and blemish'.

He replied 'I've seen them too, that's why I drink!'

Can anyone suggest a suitable punishment?  Scrumpy can be imaginative I think.
