Thankyou for the compliments em but totally undeserved.  I like to think I do good turns for folk but am, admittedly, selfish enough to admit that I trust some benefit will redound (I think that is the word) on me in return.  There again for my family, I suppose I would do anything to help them if it was in my power to do so as I suspect would most people.

Adjacent tables in a hotel at Ealing common, both there for a couple of weeks, she was from Manchester but working temporarily at Park Royal, I was teaching at a customers premise in Acton; we got chatting and ....................................
A couple of months later she left an abusive husband and joined me, we nearly made our 25th anniversary but cancer took her a couple of months short of it. She was only 61.

That's very sad, Mike. 25 yrs is still a lot of memories to treasure.

Ive given my kids various stories. Told my sons I was on a motor bike coming out of Skeg, it was late at night & throwing in down. There walking on the edge of a dark road was their Mother struggling with a bale of hay on her back..........I gave her a lift & we took it from there.
Our daughter..........Ive told her, I was on the beach in Skeg & her Mother was walking along flogging toffee apples, I called her over & grabbed a toffee apple off her, only for her to say, "that's not a bloody toffee apple".......& we took it from there.

Truth is, she was my mates Aunty visiting her sister here in Solihull........and yes, we really did take it from there.
I’m a real he/him.
