How sweet!!
We - I suppose I should get used to saying 'I' - live with three miles of farmland on three sides of the house. Apart from the normal rotation of crops nothing significant has changed since we came in 2003, but the bird population has certainly decreased - couldn't put a number on it, but enough to notice. Plenty if sparrows and too many crows and pigeons, but the number of bluetits, great tits, and coal tits have decreased markedly in the last two year and chaffinches, Bullfinches, and wagtails are far less - the former two now a rarity. Still see jackdaws and occasionally a Greater Spotted Woodpecker. A buzzard or two from time to time. House martins are back, still waiting for the swallows and swifts to reappear.
