Well the alternative is even riskier.

I know I shouldn't, but it makes 'Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head' seem a bit mundane.

It must make a change from just complaining about the noise.

Desperation or madness.   Tragic either way.

It’s not the first time, either. I feel sorry for anybody that desperate, but I wonder if they realise what they are risking. The undercarriage bay is unpressurised and the a/c flies higher than Everest. The man may well have expired from oxygen starvation before he fell

Oh, and I forgot to mention the extreme cold that he would have experienced - the news this morning said that the temperature outside the a/c could have been as low as -60C. Inside the u/c well it might not have been quite that cold, but not far off.
One has to wonder what sort of security Nairobi airport has for this to happen - if a human being, apparently with some belongings in a rucksack or like - discovered in the u/c well at Heathrow  - can escape discovery,- what else could be secreted in such a manner?

It's not the first time this has happened & dare say it won't be the last.

That's right - there have been three previous occurrences involving a/c landing at Heathrow, and I suppose it has probably occurred elsewhere

In Madrid probably.

The rain in Spain falls mainly from the plane.

Apparently a plane spotter saw the body fall from the plane.

I guess we are bloody lucky that we don't live in a country where desperate measure are taken to escape..  The poor man..

I don't think that Kenya is a country where desperate measures to escape are needed.

The occupants of the house into whose garden the body fell had a lucky escape, but as the Evening Standard article says, it could have been a lot worse if the incident had occurred over Clapham Common, a few hundred metres away.

Apparently, the body missed the sunbathing occupant by just 3 feet!

I was an immigrant to South Africa in the 70s....I wouldn't have missed the experience but seeing Heathrow again it was like reaching Utopia😄

I can only imagine the shock as a body hit's the ground at 140mph within touching distance..Horrific..
