;D  Not in that respect! It's just always nice and comforting somehow, to see some young, rich, handsome, famous actor really earn his fee..

These days I tend to go for actors in films rather than the publicity. I feel like certain actors act as my security blanket..Stanley Tucci, Steve Buscemi, Paul Giamatti all make me pay attention..Anthony Hopkins can do little wrong but other than the ubiquitous Cumberbatch, Jude Law and Martin Freeman there's little..Though I'm reconsidering as I type thinking of Eddie Redmayne..Hey ho..I just enjoy the films! ;D

Given my poor memory nowadays, I may have seen your first three, but I don’t recognise the names. Must look them up

Did so - yes, I have seen them in films, but without looking them up I couldn't recall them

He certainly is a fine actor.  Have you seen him in The Water Deviner an Australian father looking for the graves of his three sons after Gallipolie? a great film I didn't think I would enjoy but I did.

No Jaqueline, I haven't but I'll look out for it now thankyou.

Saw the original, but not the later version - must look it up
Mike

Just looked it up Mike - 1957, can well imagine Glenn Ford (a wonderful and very underestimated actor in my opinion) as a moody Ben Wade. Of course the storyline and it's twists are in themselves a tribute to that great story writer Elmore Leonard.

A film bouncing around amongst the little grey cells - and probably feeling a bit lonely featured a mild mannered  shop keeper  - Jimmy Stewart? - runs out into the streetafter a robbery, sees the gang riding off, and by a fluke shoots one of them at ridiculously long range for a pistol. The town folk, much impressed, expect him to protect them when the gang return seeking vengeance. Ring any bell?

;D ;D  Unsurprisingly, I can't stand it!  Just watched Tom Hanks' latest, 'Greyhound'..Standard War-of-the-Atlantic stuff. Convoys and U-Boats etc..It wasn't a bad film just a stale subject that's been done superbly well already..Not sure why Hanks would've chosen it..'S not as if he needs the money. I'm disappointed.

Only just found out that Hanks wrote 'Greyhound' as well as starred...Which makes it an even more puzzling film!

Yes I've seen that Mike but can't remember the name !  My favourite film from James Stewart was the Glenn Miller Story.

p.s. Google has come up with Firecreek, was that it  ?

Greyhound is based on the novel by CS Forester titled The Good Shepherd.

I looked it up and I couldn't say one way or the other from the description - but one bit mentioned - where the baddies hang a young man I think that I would probably have remembered but I don't so the jury is out
