I've not seen the film zoony, but I read the book a while back.  Brutal.

It is Mac, it is..It's quite a story.. The film does it's best but I needed the fast forward button a time or two though it's well handled..

Just watched The Secret Garden not the type of film that I usually watch but I quite enjoyed it, a must for the ladies.

The trailer looks OK for that Hugh, anything with Julie Walters is good for me.  She's given up acting unfortunately and she won't make any more films - unless there's a Mama Mia III.  :)

I never saw Mama Mia one.. I kinda wish I had because it sounded like such a joyful thing and then number two came around before I'd watched number one and now there's number three.. My inner voice is telling me that one day I shall be sat, if not drooling then thinking about 1974, in a chair, somewhere unknown and the giant tv will be showing it on a loop..

MM one is really worth watching. It won’t be spoiled for you by having watched mark two first. Just enjoy it for its own sake

Just finished watching The Last Full Measure.. I was attracted to it by the cast list but, as is my wont, didn't read any blurb so knew not what to expect, as it were. Good film and a great story. Beautifully produced, written and directed and the acting quality can be deduced from the cast.. I had the impression that it was an early play for next year's Oscars, bein' as they ain't spending money on such in Hollywood for the time being but as I said, a good film.. but be warned, it's very 'American'..'s all I'm sayin'.. ;D

Just by chance, the next film I watched was My Salinger Year..Directed by somebody I don't know from a book I don't know but it had Sigourney Weaver so I thought it might be worth a watch..and worth a watch it was..Very different but still a very 'American' story. Thoroughly charming and enjoyable film. 9/10 for me.

Sometimes I download a film just because of the title without knowing anything about it which was the case with My Salinger Year.. Not the usual American swaggery cr*p by any means but a thoughtful and peaceful story. Nice change.

Just watch "Harriet" a slave who escaped, then spent her life freeing others, she die aged 91. A very interesting film well worth watching.

Harriet Tubman I assume..She pops up in a few modern films about that era..There's a tv series called 'The Good Lord Bird' about John Brown and the underground railroad in which she figures..
