Microwaves

How long should a microwave oven last - roughly  ?  Ive got a Daewoo Combi oven bought it in November 2016 but unfortunately there's only a 12 months guarantee.  It was working yesterday ! today it lights up when you open the door, but none of the buttoms work.    I suppose 12 months guarantee should have told me........ ;D

Alex..I think combi is the gremlin! ...an ordinary micro lasts forever (currently 12 years mine) adding clever gismo's and trouble ensue's.

I got mine years ago, just a basic turn the knob one, no fancy key pad or anything. It's around 10 years old now.

I had to stop Mrs. Robert Carrier bag from putting bacon rashers and starting jacket spuds off in the micro..if they are not stainless steel lined..they bubble and rust!..being that i'm always outside pottering until after 6..my dinner is either in the dog or the microwave!

Thanks for the input, I chose a combi as it saves putting on the big oven.   I'm looking at a Panasonic Combi now, sounds like a better make than Daewoo, although Butterpuff says she has had her Daewoo for years.  Perhaps I got a Friday afternoon job  ?  ;D

Our Philips 'Spacecube' has been in daily use for over 30 years. We keep hoping it will pack up which would justify getting a new one.
