Well if it comes to it, having lived in poorest London during the war, I don't think I saw a loo roll till was about 14, so I will enjoy the nostalgic experience of reading cut up sheets of the Daily Mirror, before using them.
The Mirror? I always found that the News of the World was a better paper! You just didn't get the ink on your arse like you do with the Mirror or the Sun.
Mind you it did get annoying when half way through an article you find that the continuation piece was missing - obviously it having been used by the previous tenant.
I hated it when the metal bucket under the wooden seat was nearly full ugggh!!
I was 16 when I first had the pleasure of an indoor flushing toilet, the same age when I realised that there were two taps in the kitchen - one with hot water, and when the gas lights gave way to electricity!
