Raven. I have started buying them AGAIN..
I remember we did it a few months back when there was a scare.. I don’t like the quilted ones.. far too thick..

I shall save my daily paper .. just it case..

Yes, that's the main point of buying the Guardian.

I would not even use the guardian for that, it would deposit more [censored] than it would remove.

Well if it comes to it, having lived  in poorest London during the war, I don't think I saw  a loo roll till was about 14, so I will enjoy the nostalgic experience of  reading cut up sheets of the Daily Mirror, before using them.

The Mirror? I always found that the News of the World was a better paper! You just didn't get the ink on your arse like you do with the Mirror or the Sun.
Mind you it did get annoying when half way through an article you find that the continuation piece was missing - obviously it having been used by the previous tenant.

I hated it when the metal bucket under the wooden seat was nearly full ugggh!!

I was 16 when I first had the pleasure of an indoor flushing toilet, the same age when I realised that there were two taps in the kitchen - one with hot water, and when the gas lights gave way to electricity!

I popped over to Lidls this morning after my swim, I wanted a few of their sandwich rolls, anyways, they had big packs of 24 toilet rolls for £7.50.  :o for anyone who's needing some. ;D

There you are! The thread reduces to the basics, think how bereft we would be without the essentials😄

It depends on the quality of the paper. Cheap ones tend to be thinner which causes problems when the finger goes through it. The best was Izal. A rough side and a smooth side. You only needed two pieces one to wipe and one to shine.

We had Izal flat packs in a wall dispenser in our bathroom when I was a kid.  Horrible stuff. Very pleased when soft loo paper became available!

Anyone remember a singer called Lou Rawls ? 😋😃
