A bad mood for any reason is not helpful to anybody.

Always consider that there is someone else that is having a far worse day than you are.

It's irrelevant, what's happening to others in anything but an abstract sense. I'll feel my own pain and I'll let them feel theirs.

How selfish and the lack of empathy that some display.

You seem to have totally missed the point. As far as I am concerned, every day is just another pointless 24 hours without the four loved ones I have lost in the last 21 months. I am sure there are many in a worse position than myself, but that doesn’t alleviate my misery in the slightest, any more than my suffering alleviates theirs

My grief is MY grief.. At the time it is the only thing important to me..Others are suffering I know.. but their suffering cannot compare to the misery/sadness/loss that I am going through at that time.
I cannot believe that ANYONE will be thinking about another (stranger) after being told that someone they love is dying..
Everything will be alright in the end, and if it’s not alright, its not the end.

I remember grief. My father died when I was a teenager. Although he'd never been in robust health after the war, I'd no idea that he was going to die.  He'd got up as usual to go to work, and had another, more serious heart attack.  Nothing else mattered for some time afterwards. I couldn't understand how anyone could be laughing (even people who I didn't know) it all just seemed so wrong at the time.  Anything could trigger tears.

When my mother died in her eighties, it was a very different sort of feeling, I knew she was ready, her quality of life was very poor etc.  In some ways that grief was tinged with relief, and guilt.  None of us knows how others deal with loss, its not a proscribed state or feeling.  We can however allow those who are grieving to have their own feelings and to cope in their own way.
Just because you’re offended doesn’t mean you’re right.
