The protests show that there are a lot of older people, who aren't us, who care enough to get involved, no matter how clumsily. I applaud them and bugger the inconvenience. They're not sitting on their backsides pontificating about things on web-sites.
Oh dear. 'Bugger the inconvenience?' And what, precisely, has causing this inconvenience achieved? Absolutely nothing - nor will it - it's just a load of virtue signallers sticking their oar in to a situation that they don't have a clue about. A 'look at us, we CARE' attitude. Well I care about folk starving in parts of the world, but my caring doesn't alleviate their suffering any more that the antics of these folk will save the planet.
If we all went back to living in caves with a life expectancy of under 30 - which was the norm, in planetary terms, in the blink of an eye ago, it would have no effect on the planet's cyclical changes.
We can, and should, try to ensure we do as little harm as possible - and the UK is one of the leaders in this endeavour. Our cities, despite all the worries, are cleaner than they were - I, like many others , lived through the London smogs of the 1940s when every winter hundreds died from their effects..
