Alfred's latest post where he referred to a drain cover, reminded me of this tale, related to me by a colleague...
When I worked in Havant in Hampshire, the factory had a remote distribution warehouse. My colleague said that when he was re-locating to the area, the furniture lorry parked on a manhole cover in his drive and cracked it. However he had heard people talking about a Manhole cover factory in the area, so he asked the receptionist in the warehouse if she knew where it was. She was new to the area herself and didn't know, so went off to ask the manager.
She returned looking embarrassed with the manager who explained that it was the term locals called the Tampax factory next door! It's address - Full Flood road - honest!
