Birthday cards.
« on: Oct 26, 2019, 11:26:59 AM »
My family has 3 birthdays in the space of 4 days - Son's, daughter's and OH's. The real problem has been buying birthday cards.  Come September or October at the latest, all the shops seem to clear away the birthday cards to make way for rows and rows of Christmas cards.  What few birthday cards that remain are rarely to our taste and there seems to be a card for every possible relation. Happy birthday second cousin three times removed.

I'll have to start buying their cards in the summer.
You'll have had your tea.

You buy the card you like, cross out the intended salutation and put your own..Simple

Birthday or Christmas Cards I do not send any. To me they are a money making racket. Not only that I am bound to miss and up set some one, so I upset everyone and be done with it.

I browse from time to time, and buy cards if I like them. Oldest granddaughter's has been in the bureau for a few weeks, its not her birthday til December.

I usually buy cards from charity shops as I find they're just a bit ' different'  So like you GM, I have mine in the cupboard for a few weeks.

I've had problems over the years as one daughter has a birthday in December and the other January.  I bought their cards a couple of months ago.  They live on the table because if I tidied them away, I would never find them.

I have a little drawer under the tv that I store cards in.. If I see a card I like I buy it.. I have quite a collection.. But when it comes to needing one they are never quite right so I have to buy one.
Everything will be alright in the end, and if it’s not alright, its not the end.
