I remembering watching Z Cars and as Devonian mentioned Dixon of Dock Green.     The old Ford Anglia panda cars too - remember those ?

Modern stuff Alex. I learnt to drive in one of these. A 1958 Austin A35, in the same 'Baby Blue' finish as the photo. 948 cc, 34 bhp and 30.1 seconds to 60! I loved it and can still remember the number plate. My second car, the first was a BMW Isetta Bubble car 3 wheeler ,which I could drive on a motor cycle licence!

I think they should bring the A35 back. What a sweet little motor.

When Will Hay teamed up with his two cantankerous oppo's he had a cracking team because any of us who has ever been in authority would have recognised them. Moore Marriott the awkward old man and Graham Moffatt the lazy boy. I love their film "Where's That Fire" but they made many others together. Cannon and Ball did a remake of one of theirs and it really wasn't as good.
