Up the wall!!!!!
« on: Dec 02, 2019, 08:36:10 AM »
Am I COMPLETELY UP THE WALL,  Life = Life. 20 Years= 20 years 10 years= 10 years and so on I thought, why award these sentences, these [censored] knew what they were doing make them serve the sentence.

I believe the thinking is that the prospect of only having to serve half of a given term leads to good behaviour inside. Whether or not that is born out by experience, I do not know. What I do know is that there many, many crimes committed by people who, had they served their full term, would have still been inside and unable to commit those crimes, the most recent example, of course, being the London Bridge murders last week

so if we offer them early release they will behave in prison, so that they can get out earlier to create havoc on the outside.... mind you it makes life easier for the prison guards so that's ok then

seems a reasonable interpretation to me

Even if good behaviour works for 90% while doing their time  I think it totally wrong to risk the life of just one innocent Brit, against the remaining 10% of these scumbags .

The theory is that the prisoners serve the other half of their sentence on licence. Which ought to mean good behaviour outside or immediately banged up again. I don't know if it works or even if there is any evidence or reason to think it would work. But I do know there have been some spectacular failures.

Do we provide prayer mats for these wasters in society while in prison, if yes I shall go further up the wall.

It does not seem to me peculiar at all, that there are those amongst us who actually still subscribe to the notion that these young terrorists should be let out whatever the consequences to other people.
We have a situation were there is no certainty at all that any of these terrorists have been deradicalized, yet even the father of the young man who was killed subscribes to the notion that we continue to release these young men provided they convinced some do-gooder they have been deradicalized.  We all know there is no way of determining whether these terrorists have been deradicalized, but many amongst us are willing to put your and my life at risk whatever the unknowns.
I am all for letting these liberals take the risk with their own life, unfortunately it does not stop there, other people are at risk.

Yes, & they are escorted to Friday prayers each week, within the prison.

According to current UK law, The Representation of the People Act of 1983, convicted prisoners cannot vote in any elections. People who are being held on remand and have not been convicted, do have the right to vote via postal ballot.

That august body that we love so much over here, The European Court of Human Rights, has repeatedly ruled that the UKs blanket ban on prisoners voting is unlawful, and naughty old parliament has repeatedly ignored their ruling. Oh dear!

Britain is the only nation in Western Europe to have a blanket ban on voting for prisoners.

No doubt Prime Minister Swinson and her 'green' in all ways Home Secretary, Caroline Lucas will be clearing this annoying anomaly when they rescind article 50 in 8 days time. And issuing fleece lined mussulahs for all our Islamic prisoners to enjoy as soon as possible. Probably with 'I love Fridays - Bollox to Brexit' printed on the underside.

This reminds me of a photo taken a couple of years ago of two muslims praying on a stairwell at Anfield during half time..  The guy who took the photo and complained was branded a 'bigot' and a 'disgrace to humanity' now the photo shows this was an emergency exit, but nobody moved them on.   The guy who complained however was banned from the ground.    ???
