Sexist Mr Men
« on: Dec 03, 2019, 08:49:28 AM »
An academic has criticised Mr Men for being sexist. Apparently Mr Clever is telling Miss Curious about the Forth Bridge when she asks what happened to the First, Second and Third bridges?

Not an academic in my view just a rather silly person. I imagine another one will  be asking for LGBT Mr Men next?

A report by the University of so and so has come to the conclusion XYZ.

How often have you heard this sort of statement on some issue and say to yourself  "Well I could have told them that".

As for Mr Men, I thought little kids in nursery class read that not University students.

For how much longer do we have to put up with this sort of silliness?

Has anyone else noticed how films are introducing the homosexual angle in many films these days ?A couple of minutes in to a film last week & two men were kissing passionately in front of their adopted five year old son.Trying to portray these perverts as a normal happy family is sickening.

Margaret Thatcher was accused of being a philistine for asking what the use of some
"academic" disciplines was. I am inclined to agree.

But, as the UK has gone seriously bonkers insofar as every time one turns round there are
more Universities (most of which serve less purpose than a Tech college), and they are full
of people who, instead of doing something productive, are puffing hot air in their
specialised "subject" (W*nking Studies), they have to justifiy themselves by making these sort of
proposterous pronouncements.

Children enjoying the Mr Men books are not going to leap in the air
and say Mr Fatty (who is now, presumably, in the oubliette of 'herstory'
because of the implication that being GROSSLY FAT is somehow undesirable)
is being sexist because he asks Miss Booby (presumably also down the pipe because
the fact that she has breasts is somehow judgemental about flat-chested women)
if she can help him with the ironing. They will laugh and enjoy themselves,
especially if they have not had their unformed minds twisted by some PC person who
looks for supposed provocation round every corner (oops; shouldn't have mention the word 'corner'
as it is anti buildings that have curved ends).

"Has anyone else noticed how films are introducing the homosexual angle in many films these days?"

yes, I have.

As I know from Biology, Psychology and general reading, 10% of men and 5% of women in any
given population are homosexual I would not really want to describe homosexuality as a 'perversion', as that
in some sort of way assumes homosexuals choose to be homosexuals.

My wife and I have some very good friends who are a male, homosexual couple, who have been together for
some 35 years. Both of them have told us that they would far rather not be homosexual, and that when they
found out that they were they went to psychologists, psychiatrists and so on. They do not make a big song
and dance about things, any more than my wife and I make a big song and dance about things.

The problem is not having homosexual people in films; the problem is homosexuality being promoted in films,
and elsewhere, as a "life-style choice," which it isn't, and, possibly giving young minds the impression that it
might be preferable to heterosexuality, which it isn't.

The fact of the matter is that there are a lot of homosexual people, and they should be allowed their space just
as much as heterosexual people; but that is all: a "Gay Parade" is just as preposterous as a "Hetero Parade."

Mick,  Rammed down your throats constantly on TV. I do not want to watch two men of two women kissing each other or even worse graphic sex.

I'm glad these people dont to go jail anymore that was cruel, on the other hand same sex marriage is a bridge to far for me.  And as for teaching about homosexual sex in school that is criminal.

When I was 12 I was due to go off to boarding school, so my Mum felt it was time to tell me
about sex (nowadays children learn about it before they are born), while my Dad was hiding
behind the sofa with embarrassment.

Any way she told me never, ever to get into bed with a boy who said he was cold or lonely because
he would stick his willy up my bum. That did it for me; never even felt tempted.

If a young person thinks they are homosexual (and this seems to happen in the teenage years) they
should go and see a qualified person to advise them.

When I was 14 I had 2 'gay' dreams; and this worried me an awful lot, so I went to see the school doctor
who, as far as I am concerned, gave me the most sensible advice he could have given anyone: stop
worrying about it, go away and get on with other things, and if you are really homosexual you'll know
soon enough. So I went away, stopped worrying, and the rest is history.

Homosexuality as a sort of "dish" on the smorgasbord of life should not be taught at all.

Well, well, well . . .

I can't expose young children to this: fancy a man with a Big, Green, "Dong"  :)

Oh, wait a minute: with "that" on the end everything is alright again.

Mr Nosey got that bandage when he caught his nose in the door of the department of Gender Studies.

How bloody stupid is all this.. Poor old Noddy and Big Ears have been put through the wringer already..
Sleeping Beauty was criticised because the Prince didn't ask her permission for a kiss. The fact that she was sleeping ( under a spell) at the time made no difference.
Tempting a young girl with an apple will be next..  Cinderella cleaning out a fireplace will not go down with climate change owing to the smoke in the air.. and God forbid that the poor child pricks a finger on a dangerous weapon..
Everything will be alright in the end, and if it’s not alright, its not the end.

I've mentioned this previously..'They' seem to be shoe-horning lgbtq-etc scenes/situations into much young adult viewing nowadays. I download everything I watch other than live sport so I have my ff button so don't have to watch the stuff.
Like many, I'm quite tolerant of these things but can't help but feel there may be a backlash coming.

I was confused when I found out the the Forth Bridge was one of three bridges.  ;D
