Briton on Film
« on: Dec 04, 2019, 05:32:17 PM »
I was watching the news earlier and they recommended 'Briton on Film' for footage of the country as it was see

(this should work but with Firefox not Google Chrome)

I watched this in great amusement thinking back to the times when this particular film was taken.
Note: the ethnic distribution and also the general physical make up of the general public who were obviously veterans of the war, when the diet was the healthiest time during the 20th century.

What were you doing at this time?

Well I was at Technical school learning the trade of engineering. I do remember however having a break from the studies one day and listening to a record of a comedy take on this sort of film.

It was quite funny then and I quite enjoy it's simplicity even now.

Wondering when the film was shot - there was a Rover P5 in one scene, which means that it cannot have been shot before 1958 - didn't notice any other clues.

That's the London I remember as a child, not the cess pit it has become now.

Indeed, genetics didn't seem to have made anyone morbidly obese when that film was made.

Audrine - You should be able to download it to your hard drive if you use Firefox and a Video downloader addon. I haven't tried it but I will now, and let you know if it works.

Yes it worked o.k. - I have Firefox web browser downloaded on my computer and have an addon called
Video Dowloadhelper. Starting the film in the browser and then starting the video downloader it comes up with several options of which I choose MP4. It then took 12 minutes to download into the Download folder on my computer. If you find it difficult to do this I could always email my downloaded copy to you if you so desire.

Thanks EEGRET,
Guess what?
I clicked on you tube & found Briton on Film  that you had installed previously. I am anxious to watch it. Thanks again Audrine

I love historic events. I was good at history while in school. I even beat Ron Taylor a boy in my class exams that was always top of the class in every subject. What an accomplishment!
