You're okay it's not compulsory, it's only for those who are interested

Christmas will never be the same without the Morecambe and Wise Christmas Special (new ones that is)

I've just got the Christmas TV paper, not much for my taste in afraid, celebrity rubbish, cartoons, kids films.  I love drama but very little over Christmas.  I tend to watch ITV 3 all the old repeats.

New year is a little better, The Trial of Christine Keeler sounds interesting, I expect you all remember the Profumo scandal.  I'm going to record anything that sounds interesting to keep me going over Christmas.

Something that always intrigues me about films, not just Christmas ones. When it comes to gunplay, why are the baddies such awful shots? Saw a brilliant/terrible example 20 minutes ago. I exercise in the mornings and normally have some music from YouTube on - anything from Handel to Holly according to mood. Switched on the TV and it was tuned to a movie channel showing a western. Before I could press the button for YouTube the scene in front of me was so riveting that I watched it for about three minutes. The hero, all unsuspecting, walks towards a cabin, unaware that about 8 baddies are inside, waiting to shoot him. Not just that, but there are more baddies in flanking positions in barns, behind bales of hay, etc, more than a dozen all told. Hero gets to within 50 yards of the cabin and they all open fire on him - every shot misses, giving him time to dodge behind a conveniently placed wagon and start to return fire, knocking over a baddy with just about every shot whilst they continue to miss, even though he is standing behind the wagon with his legs totally exposed below its bed!
I was a reasonable shot in my rifle club days - at 50 yards, with either rifle or pistol, I could hit a man sized target every time - in fact at 50 yards with the rifle I could put every shot into a target the size of a one pound coin. Still, it gave me a laugh to start the day!

Well the reason I started this post was for programme recommendations (mine or others) anything worth watching that others might enjoy, sound easy enough, BUT finding something worth recommending isn't easy from what I've seen so far, especially new programmes, I think i'm going to be reverting to the golden oldies (or as they say now, "another chance to see" or "classic")
Queen fans with Sky Arts will be okay on Christmas Day from 6am onwards

Hi Jacqueline, How are you my Rayners Lane friend?Christmas was always a busy time working at Boots. The manager always gave every one a Christmas box. Not much but I think it came out of his own pocket. Those were happy days for me. Such memories!

Yes, I remember Christine Keeler. She had a rough life
after the affair was all over. I feel somehow she was not clever enough to cash in on her life as a call girl when she was young & pretty. I am sure the program you mentioned will be interesting to watch I hope it gets shown over here eventually. I wish you & yours a very Merry Christmas. Audrine

Let's be honest. There's practically nothing worth watching outside the very few new things that most will watch anyway. My viewing will be of downloads, films 'n tv and I doubt that 'Christmas' will be part of any titles.
