The empty chair
« on: Feb 08, 2020, 05:35:26 AM »
I look across the room, but she isn’t there
All I see is her empty chair
The easy chair where she used to be
As she read or sat and talked with me
The chair’s still there and it will remain
Although she’s gone and I feel the pain
Of losing her forever more
From that empty chair across the floor
Thank you for the days, the days you gave me.
The older I get, the better I was!

So true, brought a tear to the eye.

nicely done mate
it will ring true in so many homes

Thank you - I must admit to tears whilst writing it
