Womens' Football
« on: Feb 08, 2020, 11:26:05 AM »
I dare say it is interesting to a few people but it's of no interest to me. Just wait till next season and you won't be able to move for it (in the legacy media). What Australia does today we do tomorrow.

Where is this coming from?  The 'men' could learn a lot from watching the women's game.

I have no interest in women's football, it's slower and less skilful compared to the men's game.  Another annoyance is women doing the commentary on PL games on TV.

Slower and less skilful? Possibly, but it's also less spiteful, combative and mean-spirited..As are the fans..Nothing wrong with women commentating as long as they know what they're talking about..and don't squeal. ::)

That's the point they do squeal !  drives me potty.

As for less spiteful, not so sure that's correct :)

I very much am..They play a much cleaner game altogether..Don't yell and swear at referees or pretend to be fouled when untouched..in other words cheat..Better behaved supporters too, if somewhat over-enthusiastic in the screaming department.. ;)

God help us, too much men's football, now overkill on women's too.  Just can't understand how any woman (or man) would want to kick a ball around a field. I'd rather watch paint dry.

It makes a change from the dreary drivel that inhabits most of non-prime-time viewing..I have a choice to watch it or not so I choose not to..Everybody has that choice too..

I'm not a football fan at all.  My OH told me that women's football was once more popular than men's.  I didn't believe it, then I read this:  https://www.history.co.uk/article/when-women%E2%80%99s-football-was-bigger-than-men%E2%80%99s

For those who still like to criticise the women’s game as being somehow less important or commercially viable, here’s the inconvenient truth: women’s football in the UK was once even more popular than the men’s, and would have become bigger and bigger if it hadn’t been forcibly curtailed by the FA.

But they don't join in the goal scoring antics by pulling off their shirts.

Which is a shame.  ;D

Women should be at home not playing football.

Men should be at home and not fighting wars. These anomalies happen from time to time.

i am a football person, i love football, i also enjoy ladies football, and if you think they dont dive, watch enlands wide right player...[franny lee fan obviously]
but they are not as physical but can be as skilful ... MS Bronze could get a game with Donny Rovers any day of the week...
but as Zoony kindly points out, if you dont enjoy it then simply dont watch it
