Oscars
« on: Feb 10, 2020, 09:19:41 AM »
Well these have now come and gone. A South Korean film won Best Film and a number of other awards. The results seemed a good mix.

It very much appears that the best of breed win. This nonsense about diversity and quotas has no place in any awards. If they start affecting results the awards will be even more meaningless.

Oscar nominations are often rather too worthy and right-on for my tastes..For a foreign language film to win Best Picture smacks of a fit-up or a compromise..Enjoyed 1917 but it seemed a pale version of Private Ryan to me..
