Cut benefits.
« on: Feb 24, 2020, 09:21:31 AM »
I have just been thinking as the Tories are not willing to cut pension tax relief or increase fuel duty cutting all benefits except state pension may be the solution.

Thinking is not good for you Brian.. It confuses the brain and makes us do and say silly things.. Go out for a nice walk... Pop into Wetherspoons and get a coffee .. You might meet your mate....
Everything will be alright in the end, and if it’s not alright, its not the end.

Quite, klondike.  Brian started a very similar thread last week.

Tax occupational and private pensions double, tax anyone who has a house they inherited, bring back dog licences and introduce tax on coffee in Wetherspoons. 😉

Problem is most of these things are ruled out in the manifesto. How about taxing people who only have a state pension.

The conservatives seem rather keen to spend a lot of borrowed money whilst depriving the exchequer of billions in fuel duty and TV tax. It aint gonna work! Yes they will have to bring back the dog licence.

The BBC gets the licence money. The tax payer picks up the tab for prosecuting non payers.
