Since the tax system itself is so deeply corrupt and rotten to the very heart you can hardly blame people for seeking to evade being fleeced!

I cant remember the last time a tradesman refused me a discount for cash.

I guess the tradesmen will just need multiple bank accounts, a bit like in the past where they had 2 accounting books, a genuine one and one for the tax man, all they need is a normal business account and a second "secret account" for off the book payments, you can be sure there's a way around every "problem".

When in Perth I asked my Window Cleaner if he had one of those wee machines that take card payments, he said "no way" as the bank charged him every time someone paid him that way.

Such a poorly paid occupation. A tax man I met in a pub told me that most only make about £25 a day.

A significant amount of the antiques trade is still dont in cash. Secret bank accounts can be revealed via a credit search but bitcoin accounts cant. Many of the organizations I deal with now take bitcoins. Its the only way you can pay for anything on the dark web.

Aaaargh! Whenever anyone uses the words "Birmingham" and "Weatherspoons" in the same sentence.... I get the voices.

We had been up north and stopped off for a coffee in a pub somewhere close to Brum itself. I think it was Sutton. Strange pub. Apart from the tax man there was an old boy sat in the corner drinking coffee and handing out leaflets for some club or other. I heard somebody say something about 4:00am you must be bloody mad so I didn't take one.

They could have been flyers for the poultry market. but as a visitor you were wise to stay away.
