I think the Lords delayed the fox hunting bill for around 5 years.  There was the foot and mouth thing which  put it in abeyance for a little while but when that was cleared up the Lords came out again in full force.  They wasted years of parliamentary time over something that had a majority in the Commons and in the country.

The Labour Government used the little used Parliament Act to force the Bill though, Labour spent more parliamentary time discussing Banning Fox Hunting that taking us to war against Hussain.

What the Champagne Socialists and Luvvies of Islington and Camden know about hunting with dogs must have been minimal , I have yet to see a pack of hounds howling down the Holloway Road, they only did it to upset the Toffs
