0nly 1 in 3 self employed being helped.

I am just wondering if this is because a lot do not declare all of their income to the tax man.

I would imagine it could well be the case.

If you tell HMRC that you're earning under £10,000 per year you can't really tell them you need £20,000 to live on.

I bet a lot of small closed limited companies (ie one man band or family businesses) gave all their employees a monster pay rise when HMG announced they would be paying 80% of the wage bill.
