Just witnessed the oddest thing - the headline to a comment piece changed whilst I was reading it.
Based upon an app the first headline read:
"6.3 million UK people may already be infected"
That number would have been truly wonderful for public, government and scientists alike.
However, the new headline read:
"10% (approx 6.3 million) of the UK population report having virus like symptoms"
This is something quite different and quite meaningless.

To be honest, there do seem to be some pretty odd stats being bandied around at the moment - vide my thread on the silly survey

10% of UK population is 6,600,000
I started out with nothing and still have most of it left.

The thing is journalists no longer work for newspapers, but commentators do.
Commentators get paid by having something interesting to say which leads to many alarming bye-lines.

well you know what they say about lies, damned lies and statistics.
No unjust system was ever broken or corrupt society changed by time servers and yes men who obeyed the orders of “legitimate authority”.
