Lockdown Breach
« on: Mar 31, 2020, 01:37:25 PM »
Local news has it that the local police are chasing people off one particular street for breaches of Lockdown.
We know the street and the people likely to be out on that street - Romainian casual workers.
But what is the point?
All these young men will be living in HOMO, with no opportunity to socially isolate.
Chasing them off the streets achieves nothing.

What you permit you promote.

I am in lockdown as are many millions of others why should they be the exception to the rule or anyone else  , we need to get this virus under control not spreading it

It may keep them in close proximity but off the street.

Maybe that depends on what the men were doing on the street. They could be holding ad hoc associations, drinking and smoking together in public, at close quarters.

Do you know what a HOMO is and the conditions these young men live under.
They physically can't socially isolate.

Yes I was an Environmental Enforcement Officer for a London Council for the last 10 years of my working life, dealt with HMO's as part of my remit , week in week out.

That doesn't mean they have to 'not isolate' on the street.

Charter a plane & kick em back to Romania.

But they drink and smoke together in private,in very close quarters, too. They have no option.

Just to clarify a HOMO is an offensive name for a gay.

A HIMO is a house in multiple occupation. ;D

Charter a plane & kick em back to Romania.
Offering free flights to Romania for these very young men would be the charitable thing to do - assuming the place they're going is better than an HIMO.

I wonder if they are actually from Romania. The Roma (gypsies) in Sheffield get called Romanian, when in fact the large majority are Slovakian.  They like to congregate on the streets.  Roma are all over Europe.

A friend from years ago has a Romanian son in law. He has a good job, an English wife and a couple of kids. They own a nice home.  None of them wear nylon tracksuits.  ::)

From experience they don't often fly back they drive reason being they take their tools back with them clothing for the family presents etc either in a car they have bought here or got to the UK in the first place , or via a Mini Buses based in Romanian that shuttle them back and forward with a trailer for their luggage.

That sounds like the place that featured on Rogue Landlords.

Enfield I think it was.
