As most of you know my own home is down in Perth and I would really like to go and check on it and start some of the Spring jobs I do yearly. I dare not make the journey. BUT......I don't see how I can infect anyone or be infected by being on my own in my car, getting out in the driveway in Perth and going into my own home..

Come to that I could just as easily be respecting social distancing rules at my caravan but that is against the rules, and the site is shut.

There is no time to produce regulations with all the ifs and buts to suit all individual circumstances they have to be simple broad brush strokes that cannot get misinterpreted. Then they must be obeyed by all otherwise there is no point in having them at all. Given this woman's high profile and her job I still think she should be sacked completely. Surely Scotland cannot be so low on talent that only she can fill the position.

You can't, but you're paying the blanket ban travel price caused by the idiots who'll drive 200 miles up from Edinburgh to a lodge in the Highlands just to socialise.

Oh, have you asked your insurance company about the position if your house in Perth is left empty for 3 months?

They only say sorry because they have been found out.
Twice she went to her second home. How can that be a mistake?

The only mistake she made being seen. I am not in a position to judge any one as I break the stay at home rule every day. I am very strict on the separation rule.

There isn't a stay at home rule.

There is, however, a stay at home, except in certain circumstances, rule.

How can someone, so lacking in awareness, keep any sort of top level job.  If people like her can't or won't respect the current guidelines, is it any wonder that some ordinary members of the public follow suit.  I saw a family being interviewed on TV having a picnic in the Peak District. They'd driven from Birmingham! (No, it wasnt Brian.)

If you were stuck on a caravan site and they closed it you would have to go back to Perth. The crime is not in the "doing" but in the "getting found out".

But I'm not at a caravan park, I'm at my partner's farm up on the north coast. Nor am I going to drive to Perth.

The crime is always in the doing, it's the result that depends on being found out or not.

If you rob a bank & don't get caught it doesn't mean you didn't rob a bank.

If you rob a bank and get caught but the courts find you not guilty did you rob a bank?  ;D
I started out with nothing and still have most of it left.

In law, no, as it wasn't proved you robbed a bank so only you would know.

Morally if you did rob the bank but got away with it then you robbed the bank.

and now the NZ health minister has taken his family to the beach and accepts that, in his own words, he was an idiot
