Golfers
« on: May 10, 2020, 04:36:05 PM »
Was enjoying the sun yesterday wandering over the closed local golf course and came across quite a few of these things. Are they something you golfers use to polish your balls or something else entirely?

Can you scrub your putter in it?

I am not a golfer but if a ball has a bit of mud stuck to it it will normally roll in a circle and may encounter excessive wind resistance in flight, therefore it is important to go round with clean balls.

And always examine them between holes.

I wondered what they were doing...  ;D

I'm still not certain That's what it is for though as there was nowhere obvious to put your balls and I didn't want to experiment.

I decided to do what I probably should have done in the first place and Google came up with this. It seems golfers must have a lot of trouble with their balls as there are umpteen options but this seems to be the one I came across...

Hi Klondike it washes the golf ball and I have used one many times. The word polish never sprung to mind.

Just had a session with golf practice net now having a cup of coffee before starting more golf playing theory and indoor exercise drills. Doing me some good 60 days in home lock down and I have lost 3 pounds in weight

It's probably the springs on your scales weakening Mike - I have seen similar effects many times.

Have you hit a 'Dominic' yet Hugh? It's a long drive that goes out of bounds but there's no penalty..

Great being released from stay at home lock down, I was able to go to club and practice on the driving range. Using the practice net at home was good exercise and with the aid of a launch monitor I knew my swing speed and the distance it would have gone. What was missing what direction. On Sunday when I play, I will know the total distance carry and roll.
Now waiting for a golf buggy which I have ordered to arrive, it will fit nicely in my car now the rear seats have been removed. It will pay for it self over one year on money saved on hire charges.
Never heard of a dominic Zoony and at my age never have to. I have added 50 yards to my carry distance which I am quite pleased about.
