What's the problem?
« on: May 19, 2020, 07:31:51 AM »
Apparently there, are objections to a mega mosque in Picadilly circus.

I'm an atheist but surely the countries biggest religion should be able to set up shop in this iconic location.

We have a building in the centre of where I live which has been converted to a mosque. There were lots of objections but many restrictions were put in place. For example no car parking so early morning prayers didn't disrupt residents. I understand people may just park further away. I think noise and parking were the main complaints.

Not so.
Largest religion in the UK is Christianity.
Not to worry though the rate those immigrants breed they will soon be the main religion in any case.

Why do objectors have to use the 'gays' as a reason for their objection ? Can they not simply say they don't want a sign of Islamic domination in the centre of London ? no of course they can't.

It depends how you figure out biggest. If you mean the number turning up to bother their gods each week then the Muslims beat the Catholics and if the CofE church down the road from me is anything to go by it's probably vicars only most of the time.

A relative lives in a street where a mosque was built.  He is now having to move house.  He can't wait to move out of the house where he had lived happily for years.

Ask people who live near mosques & hear the complaints of early morning noise from inconsiderate motorists attending the mosques.

Reminds me of when I lived in Mill Hill many years ago.  My friend lived four streets away from the Synagogue.  Jewish people were not meant to drive on the sabbath, so they would all park in my friends street and walk the rest of the way.

Well the Muslims could dig a hole in the middle of Piccadilly Circus and use it for stoneing them to death as I think they would at home.

There's a link in the story to the objections
https://idoxpa.westminster.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=neighbourComments&keyVal=Q54UPMRPFSO00

Which gives the application number 20/00726/FULL

Because I assume that many of the objectors are gay & the Muslim attitude to gays is of concern to them.

I doubt that Bobcat, unlike myself who followed the links & found the planning application with a couple of clicks, bothered to check.

He'd be too engrossed in trying to expose your post as anti-Muslim fake news.

Better luck next time Bobcat.
