I merely asked as, to me, it was something so odd to have happened & it intrigued me as to how it happened.

Sorry...Mis-directed Python..Knew it was a risk but hoped for a " NObody expects the Spanish Inquisition...." response.

Replying to Sheila.  My care took 198 days from my visit to A&E and my last dressing appointment.  Much of the time driving daily to a specialist nurse 5 miles away across town.  After a further 3 months my left calf has still not gone down to its original size, maybe never will.

Itís quite easy. Open car door, move, without realising it, within its radius of closure, fiddle with something on car seat, step back not far enough, close door. Ouch! Least ways thatís how I managed
Mike 😢😢

Most definitely deserves the bugger, bugger, bugger.  Advice from an old wife [old wives tales geddit!] is to pay a lot of attention to a wide area all around the scraped/gouged bit, with vigorous massage and possibly some smelly stuff [mentholatum, tiger balm, that sort of stuff] - back of knee, ankle bones, achilles tendon, all those places you can probably put a name to.  Works wonders for any injury I find - but then I have long ago turned into my mother who was a very, very old wife.

Sat in passenger side if friend's Audi to go to funeral. As I sat down caught  finger in metal  loop for door lock. Never even noticed it before. Finger hurt during funeral. It was wedding ring finger but didn't think to remove ring. By 8pm finger was blue and very swollen. 111 said immediately go to A&E. Ring had to be  cut off and finger was broken. Hospital said another hour and it  would have been very dangerous.  Hope you get well soon.

Until reading that, I had forgotten that I once had to have my wedding ring cut off. Some insect bite or sting, scarcely noticed at the time, caused the finger to swell

This accident happened to me. I opened the door, got out with difficulty because of my painful leg, Got my feet on the ground and as I turned round, closed the car door and the bottom corner of it, which is bended forward and very sharp, caught my led and took a chunk about 2" ....Blood everywhere. My daughter is a nurse, quickly bandaged the wound and took me to the doctor surgery, where the nurse took charge and disinfected and dressed the wound. It took a weekly visit to the nurse for two months and it got better. A very painful experience.... :'( Wish you well, Zooni.  gmx
