Bugger, bugger, bugger...
« on: May 20, 2020, 01:31:01 PM »
Loaded up the car with mostly big cardboard that's been cluttering up my passage..All went well..Place was very quiet, no folk about. I was admiring the emptiness as I shut the car door and took a chunk out of my left lower calf. Leaving blood in the dust I drove away to seek my medicine cabinet. I've had worse but last time took a couple of years to heal properly so fingers crossed..and ouch!!

Oh dear, I hope it doesn't take as long to heal as you fear.  I seem to remember xetog had something that took ages to get better.

I fell out of bed 4 or 5 years ago and the wound took 2+ years to heal reasonably and you're right about xetog, though I think his the more serious injury. This time I'll go to Manuka dressings more quickly. It's not a big deal.

Are they dressings with Manuka honey already in them or do you buy Manuka honey?  I've seen mixed reports about the benefits of eating Manuka honey.  I bought some last time it was half price in H&B (they have it on offer again at the moment) as I had read it is good for your lungs but then another report said it was good as a dressing but not much of a benefit when eaten.

I don't know whether to buy some more.

Ouch, poor auld buggar :)  I hope that doesn't take too long to heal

I buy Manuka honey from Aldi Sheila, I have it with a tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar, someone told me it's good for alleviating joint pain.  I'm not sure if it works as I keep forgetting to take it, :) it's a refreshing drink though..

Yes Shiels..The dressings are impregnated with the honey but it's still used in honey form. Genuine Manuka is hard to find, very expensive and mostly sold for medical purposes but there are many fakes.

I'm still trying to work out how you trap a leg in a car door if it's you who's shutting the door.

Hope it heals without any problems zoony.

It’s quite easy. Open car door, move, without realising it, within its radius of closure, fiddle with something on car seat, step back not far enough, close door. Ouch! Least ways that’s how I managed

Don't think I said I trapped my leg in the door..Your assumption sir..I was looking at something else as I shut the door (rear door) and the bottom corner of said door caught my calf, which was sadly and palely exposed due to me wearing long shorts with no socks, on it's way back to being shut..

Still can't figure it but I've done strange stuff to myself in the past. Hope it heals quicker than you fear.

Exactly. In my case the bottom of the front door (I'd only changed cars a few days earlier) was a different shape to that of its predecessor. Had it still been the previous car the bottom of the door would have missed my leg - however...............
