Long may it continue - not you dozing off, sir, but illegals leaving.
On second thoughts, may you have the opportunity to doze of for a long, long time to come!

Jacq. I hope you read in the news today of the four illegals stopped in the Channel today trying to LEAVE England?  ;D   Happening more and more apparently as some of these people, single men I suspect, realize that where they've come to is not what they thought it would be. The better news is that they're off back to France!
I too look forward to coming across that story zoony. Thanks for the anticipation and not spoiling the fun by posting a link.

I still haven't chanced upon the story.  :(

BTW I hope you squared it with Mac referring to them as illegals.
So long and thanks for all the fish

I'm loving this c**p weather, it will either put their  boats off coming, or sink them half way across, which will be a bonus, as a later attempt is  then not possible.

Has there been bad weather in some parts of the country?

We had light rain on & off for most of yesterday but today it's dry & sunny.

It has just stopped raining in the last hour - having started before I woke around 0400 yesterday. The road to Veronica's grave is flooded - not realising just how much it was flooded I hit the water at about 22 mph and the water sprayed over the top of the Mondeo - drove through it on the way back at about 5 mph!

Probably not far from us then. The Wash has been blessed. Others have not been so lucky. A little rain is heading my way soon I think.

We're on the Lincolnshire / Nottinghamshire / South Yorkshire border & our location seems to have a different climate from the rest of the UK as we never get torrential rain or damaging high winds etc.

I live in North East Essex and it has hardly stopped raining here all week, we haven't had one dry day.
The only way is up....

And Essex is normally so dry - my late brother lived in Braintree and reckoned their average rainfall was on a par with some dry place in the Middle East - Dubai (?)

My home weather station (Northampton) shows over an inch so far today and over an inch yesterday.

Here on the Wash it was 4.8mm yesterday (drizzling on and off throughout the day) and 0.3mm today.

 ;D ;D ;D

The rain is back home not here. They must have cleaned the street drains out there too. We have what was built as a coal cellar with no attempt to waterproof it at all. Water from the street drain can back up into it so I dug a sump pit and put a pump into it. I have put a CCTV camera over it. The hole has water in it but it hasn't been emptying (if it does the movement triggers a recording) so that 2 inches must have been successfully carried away by the street drains.

Rained here, north west Sheffield, a wet and grey day yesterday.  A little bit of rain today, mixed with sunshine.

Just realised that this is the Dover Today thread. I wonder if the generally bad weather slowed things down there.
