Just one or two bullets into a rubber dinghy and "ping".  Swimming lessons anyone?

It'd be more of a 'phsssssssssssss' than a ping.

More on Breitbart about the collusion between British and French coastguards to ferry migrants across the Channel to us.

I made a start on reading this and it seems plenty of evidence has been collected for our government to ignore but it's long and I don't want to give myself the hump for the rest of the day  so I didn't get to the end of it...

If we can't stop the influx from France, then serious resources must be put into processing asylum claims at speed. Far too many failed claimants remain.  However, a large number of recent entrants are Iranian, and are likely to have their asylum claim accepted.

If they have genuine asylum claims why didn't they apply before they got here? Rhetorical question.

Reasons given include English speaking, family members already here, big Iranian community here etc., etc.

From what I've seen the French escort them half way across to look after their welfare then they're met by the UK Border Farce to bring them the rest of the way to the UK. Seems a very well oiled operation to me.

I would imagine the two Governments ship crews are on first name terms.

Funnily enough I was speaking to an Iranian asylum seeker I know yesterday. Most asylum seekers say due to changing their religion to Christianity they are afraid to stay in Iran for fear of persecution. That excuse is wide open to abuse.

Brexit means we can close our open borders to EU citizens without visas.  Brexit won't stop asylum seekers.

What you all have to realise is that both countries, France and GB have a duty of care towards anyone and everyone at sea.
If you have a little rubber dingy with 56 people crammed on it with a freeboard of just inches, then they cannot be just hooked off but must be shadowed just in case the damn thing sinks. If it does sink then they must be rescued and brought ashore. Only and unless the occupants ask to be recovered no one can forcibly take the boat into tow.
The French navy provide this protection for these reasons.

The small craft undocumented migrants must be in breach of some law.

They should all be fined for not social distancing. Then immediate deportation.

Maritime law requires that all vessels are legally bound to come to the aid of another vessel that is in distress, if requested to do so.

Maritime law does not require vessels to be permanently positioned in any particular area in case a vessel gets into distress.

There is no legal requirement for the French & the British to have a permanent presence in the Channel for dedicated escort & rescue duties.
