He didn't break the rules as the journey was for a valid purpose.

But did he really  have Covid symptoms or was that just a ruse to justify the journey, after all, I would put nothing past anyone with political connections.

He made a wrong decision I can understand why he did do it , the media especially those with a left wing bias and the opposition in the Commons have been gunning for him since he was appointed as the PM's advisor.

If he's getting all that flak he must be over the target.

Dr Jenny rocks! Cummings wife was ill. He had been with her and Boris. Boris became really ill very quickly. Cummings had a 4 year old who needed safeguarding. They could have become terribly ill really quickly.
Why didn't he ask a friend in London? ???
Has he any friends? So, my friend turns up with a possible Coronavirus child. I've been isolating my kids and myself would I take the risk? No go to Durham.
Had he stayed in London and he and his wife had been hospitalised what would have happened? You have to use your common sense. I would have done the same thing. Advice and safeguarding.

Klondike, the people I know, their kids are more likely to hug paid nanny as she spends more time with them.
To be honest it wasn't the kids I was thinking about....

Oi - that was my picture....

... and it was about me on an entirely different topic.

Most remainers and the left wing media hate Cummings. If he farted they'd be accusing him of launching weapons of mass destruction. I don't know the details but have little doubt that most of this story is manufactured outrage.

With his contacts I am sure he could have arranged grocery deliveries in London and that arrangements would have been made for childcare  if he and his wife had become seriously ill. If something had happened en route many could have been exposed to the virus.

I agree Glen..People love to judge and are quick to turn the thumb down. So many such decisions are quietly being made by families and individuals up and down the UK and each family has a tailor-made need to stretch the rules..

He certainly won't want to but sometimes media pressure forces even the PMs hand.

He does have some influence on what Boris does , but I very much doubt if Boris heeds his advice all the time, Boris is no puppet far from it
