TV Tax
« on: Apr 02, 2009, 11:50:55 AM »
It is about time that the age of requiring a TV Licence is reduced. That age should be 65.

It is now £142.50 a year. Is the BBC worth just under £12 per month?
If it only provided services to the UK that would be a start.

Poor value with big fatcat pay packets for those at or near the top.

They may be without charge for those over 75 years of  age, fortunate if you have someone living of that age in the same household as yourself.

If the BBC are so wonderful, why are they not standing on their own two feet? They are like some overfed baby.

The TV Licensing Authority or whatever they call themselves this week must be amongst the top government bully boys. There is no proper monthly refund procedure, only quarters when you have jumped through various and many hoops.

In some contries; France, it is the ability to pay. If you have a low income, then you don't have to pay your TV Licence, Perhaps our government could introduce the same scheme, and while they are at it, perhaps they could introduce the same Pension rights.

If this government had actually spent some of  the tax collected from the people who paid it.

England would have no Prescription  Charge Tax, no parking charges at England's NHS Hospitals

There would be no Television Licence Tax

All journeys on local public transport would be without charge for all. But would need to be pass controlled
to avoid anti social behaviour and crime on the move.

The costs for this would not make a dent on the monies thrown at the Banks and the debt this
Labour government have created for generations to come...
