This is a great forum and I think it's the variety of characters, including the grumpies, that keeps it ticking over.   I've learned a lot on here about politics, my PC and even my old banger :)  If you have a problem, there's always someone ready to offer advice.

I know exactly what you mean, I'm still a member of another forum, a massive one with a very nasty clique who dominate the serious discussion threads. They've been the cause of a lot of fights on there and they will rip you to shreds for the slightest thing if you dare to disagree with them. I now only go on and post in the Scottish Section and have a giggle/moan with the ones on there.
I won't say anymore as I know there's a couple of them come on here too.

I am a member on there Raven, very rarely do I sign in and even rarer do I post on there for the reasons you give.

Wow! The forum you speak of is massive.. I would hate that..
Nobody would really get to know about anyone else..
I prefer a smaller forum like this one..

Everything will be alright in the end, and if it’s not alright, its not the end.

Almost five year's membership, now.

I still love to come on here, each evening. Just to catch up with everyone's daily postings.

I subscribe to a number of professional forums for computer programming; and
everyone is extremely uptight in case they are seen to make some sort of slip . . .

Awful.

So nice to "pop in" here for a modicum of sanity.  8)

And a modicum is exactly what you get.  ;D

Even the insanity is not hairy-chested types thumping their chests and saying
"Ug, Ug, Me Top Dog." which really does get a bit much in the computer programming fraternity.

Bee you can always pop Into the Scottish Section, you would be welcome there. We do get a few visitors from South of the border but they are ok.

It never used to be that size, and for the first few years I was there it was just like this one. We got to know each other, then another forum got closed for some reason and they mostly all arrived on ours bringing all their rows and problems with them, never been the same since.

Some like the insanity too. They must. They encourage it.

I like this place because the posts are not nasty..ok i do have a laugh with Brian...but i would not be cursing or damn right rude. Lots of Scottish views on here are similar to Irish points of view. This virus thingy has made a lot of people closer too.
Plus a lot on here are savvy about helping with Govt forms and information.
