Many years ago I couldn't find work in Britain, so I started to apply for jobs outwith Britain,
and fairly quickly got a job: not the "job of my dreams", in fact far from it, but a job where I could
earn some money and not have to sponge on the dole.
Places I have worked in, but would rather not have:
Egypt, Saudi Arabia.
Places I worked in and was fine:
United Arab Emirates, Bulgaria, Scotland, England, USA.
17 years ago I had been made redundant ("we can't sack him, so we'll cook something else up") in Scotland.
So, drove a lorry across Europe, ended up in Bulgaria (my wife's country) and definitely did NOT like any of
the jobs I was offered, so lived on 'air' for 6 months and, eventually, started my own business, which made
an impressive loss in the first year, but grew from then on.
Try starting a business in a different country: that tests your mettle.
We had to leave our house behind (wouldn't fit in the lorry), and it is tenanted.
Not much sympathy for whingers who sit around in a corner of the world complaining about the lack of jobs.
Get aff yer bahookie an stert lowpan!
