Exactly Mike, we are limited by all sorts of laws. Akbuk, who has lived in Turkey, has made the valid point that the tsunami of immigrants has to be contained long before it reaches the UK, or France, or even Europe. We are at the end of a long chain, and although the numbers crossing the channel have risen recently, many, many more don't even get to mainland Europe.
Its a mess. Information about properly regulated immigration, which apart from visa applicants, helps genuine refugees, is being lost/ignored in the fury over the Channel crossers. I don't think our, or any government can solve the issue alone, its becoming world wide.
