Williams F1
« on: Sep 08, 2020, 06:25:24 AM »
When Frank and Claire Williams stepped down on Sunday it was truly the end of an era and the end of privateer teams in F1. I just hope the new owners are true to their word, and retain the Williams name and FW chassis designation.

One of my best memories is their string of constructors and drivers championships during the nineties. He won the drivers title with Nigel Mansell, Alain Prost, Damon Hill and Jacques Joseph Charles Villeneuve. I suspect the reason every title was with a different driver was Sir Frank would not give in to prima donna pay demands as he knew he had the best car and any half decent  driver could win in his car. Hill and Villeneuve in particular were no Senna or Schumacher, or Moss or Clark.

I wish Sir Frank and Claire all the best for the future!
